Oak Flooring

Oak is one of the most commonly used hardwoods for flooring. Its beauty and natural aesthetics can add a touch of warmth to nearly any room in the house. This classic appeal is what has made oak a favorite for well over a century.

Red oak is probably the most common variety of oak flooring. The wonderful grain, as well as the golden patina it develops over time makes Red oak a highly sought after flooring material. Northern oak is also a common species for flooring.

There are some things to consider before installing any oak flooring. The most important item to remember is that oak is not very moisture resistant, even when finished. For this reason most experts recommend not using oak for bathroom or kitchen floors.
